The Official Registration package for the 65th National Convention will be mailed to all BVA members of record in the middle of May. This email notice is to assist you with pre-planning as we are prepared for and anticipate a strong attendance at this years convention. We also want to insure that BVA members are able to stay in the Marriott Crystal Gateway and not at one of the overflow hotel we have contracted with due to the anticipated large attendance. This year a hotel registration form will not be provided in the registration package. It is preferred that you call to make your reservation.
Dates: August, 24th - 28th.2010 The BVA room rate is available August 20th – 31st.

Rate: $149.00 Single/Double and $169.00 Triple, $189.00 Quad per night.

Registration forms will be sent to all BVA members in good standing and will be available on the BVA Convention page by the end of the month. Attendees who register with the hotel early, and send in their BVA registration form before June 14th will be entered to win a complimentary single/double room during the convention dates. A $821 savings. The drawing will occur and be announced during the convention. The $149 room rate will be available until July 14th. This rate will only be extended if cancelations occur and the hotel is not full.
We have secured additional rooms at the Sheraton hotel across the street and will provide information on that hotel once the Marriott is full.
BVA Convention Registration: $100 for BVA members and family/guide(s), $190 for Non-Member, $50.00 for WWII Blinded Veterans and their guide. Deadline is July 14th following which there is an increase of $20.00 per person. You will be billed for the late fee if your registration is received after the 14th. Select events will have additional tickets available for guests that do not register for the full convention. The Presidents Reception, and Awards Banquet are $65.00 each event, per person. Father Carroll Luncheon is $50.00 and tickets may be requested in advance, they will be sold only as space is available.
The hotel is just 1 miles from Regan National Airport and the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle.
The hotel is very close to all the monuments and attractions within Washington DC as it is just 4.4 miles form the White House or Capitol Hill.
Metro into the city is just $1.45 - $2.00 per person each way.

Airlines have continued to cut back on their overhead and are no longer offering group discounts. Be sure to ask about military/veteran discounts, Sr. Citizen discounts, and all other discounts that you may be eligible to receive through other group affiliations. The Washington, DC, area airport closest to the Crystal Gateway Hotel is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Other area airports are Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Northern Virginia and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI).

In addition to the aforementioned under each airport listed, other ground transportation options include Greyhound (station is approximately five miles from the hotel) and Amtrak (Union Station is approximately four miles from the hotel). Both stations are Metrorail accessible. The Crystal Gateway is connected to the Crystal City Metrorail station.
Hotel Parking:
PARKING: The hotel has a parking garage with 8 Foot clearance. The hotel does not offer RV or other large vehicle parking. The Mid Atlantic Regional Group is working to secure offsite parking with a shuttle between that location and the hotel. More info will be provided in the convention conformation letter for registered attendees.
