Fellow BVA Officer,
The accomplishments and acquisitions not to exclude the pitfalls of 2007 have been permanently recorded in the annals of Blinded Veterans history. So with that behind us, we stand now before the portals of 2008 with rolled up sleeves to work as hard as ever. My plan for this year is very simple and to the point. That is none other than to INCREASE MEMBERSHIP. If it's our desire to maintain the BVA as a strong, viable and self supporting service association for blinded veterans, we had better think SURVIVAL NOW. As of this writing, our membership count surpasses the ten thousand mark by just a few. Here is the plan. If only half of us would dedicate ourselves to signing up one new member, by year's end we can boost that number to an additional 5000 blinded veterans. That would be outstanding. Can we do it? Of course we can. How do I know we can? Because we are VETERANS who have laid our lives on the line keeping the greatest country on the planet FREE. If we can do that, we can find one new member. That toll free number is 1-800-669-7079.
To help, attached is a PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT (PSA) FOR ALL regional Groups to distribute THROUGHOUT YOUR STATE TO TV and RADIO STATIONS AND THE BEST THING ABOUT IT IS THAT IT'S free. Think you can handle it? 1 know you can, but don't STOP there, do you have any family members who would qualify to join? What about church members? tell your barber to be on the lookout and above all get some cards and applications printed with our name and 800 number for when you visit our VA Medical and blind centers. believe it or not, BLINDED VETERANS are everywhere.
Godspeed & may God Bless America,
