The following is of interest in new Gene Therapy research in England and was forwarded to BVA from one of our New York members which we appreciated. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7367678.stm  

On some related BVA NEWS, this past week we had confirmation that three blinded British Army veterans and family members will be attending the BVA National Convention in Phoenix, Arizona from August 11-18th, 2008 as our special guests. The British Army has had a total of 5 service members blinded in Iraq during the war, as compared to 103 blinded or severely visually impaired, American service members, who have returned since October 2002 to now.

We will be providing more information on our new blinded veteran friends the closer to the BVA convention that we get and are excited that they will be able to make the trip over here. They are going to stop in Washington DC for a couple days to tour the city, before heading out to Arizona, so BVA will be tour guide here as well as in Arizona.
