Richmond BVA chapter meetings are held quarterly on the 3rd Friday of the month September, December, March and June.
VA support group meetings are held the 3rd Friday of each month through fall, winter and spring.

We will be having our Christmas Party on Friday, December 19, 2008. We are hoping that we have a large gathering of our members and guests and the McGuire staff that assist us every year. We are looking forward to having a great time and good fellowship.
At our last meeting we decided
to participate in getting donation for the local area Food Bank. We would ask
our members to bring canned food items to the party. The
We also had Ray Patterson, Health Care for Homeless Veterans Coordinator, come in to talk with us. Based on this we, the McGuire Richmond BVA Chapter, decided to collect serviceable clothing that would be donated to this program. Ray told us that they would be having a "Stand Down Party" on December 17th at the Hospital for the Homeless Veterans Group. They will provided the donated clothing and other items to these individuals at this function. We hope to have some of our members present to assist where needed.

Richmond Chapter Meeting Minutes
June 18, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 12:00 noon by president, Leon Robinson. The meeting was opened by pledge of allegiance by entire group and prayer by chaplain, Dianna Gillard. There were 19 in attendance including guest and staff from VIST & VISOR. Our presidents discussion was concerning the 65th convention in Crystal City, VA; August 23-29, 2010. Richmond chapter decided to purchase a full page ad for the convention program or booklet in the amount of $100.00. Also, a donation was taken up for the hospitality room refreshments in the amount of $125.00. A suggestion was made of how many was interested on renting a van for a trip to the convention for Wednesday 8/25 or Thursday 8/26 but it had to be at least 5 or more to rent a van for this purpose. The officers from the election were Leon Robinson, president; Herbert Patterson, vice president; Michael White, secretary; treasure is blank or done by Richmond’s office at present; Dianna Gillard acting chaplain. Officers remained the same with the exception of (1) one which is treasurer.
Recreation was presented by our Mobility instructor, Sara such as: bowling, golfing, fishing, horseback riding and arts & crafts. One can sign up for any of these activities by contacting her by phone or when one has an appointment or call the BVA office/VIST coordinators office. The 50, 50 was $26.00 and half was $13.00 won by Robert Adkins. The funds in the amount of $26.00 was donated back to the Richmond’s chapter account. The meeting was adjourned at 1:35 PM to participate in the farmers market held every Friday from 12:00 until 3:00 PM on the McGuire VAMC grounds.
